Sandra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in individual, couples and family therapy.. Sandra completed her graduate work at Portland State University and began her independent practice in 1976.

Prior to starting her private practice Sandra worked for the Polk County Mental Health Program providing individual, group and family counseling, specializing in play therapy for children.

Among her areas of expertise are:
Sandra is a Christian Counselor. Her primary focus is treatment of children and adolescents and their families, adjustment issues and also Eating Disorders. Other areas of expertise include: Treatment for Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Panic Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD), Grief/Loss, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Adjustment Disorders and Stress Management.

Sandra treats children ages 6-12, adolescents 13-18 and adults. She does individual, couples and family counseling. Sandy does not do gender issues. Per Sandy "I have not had adequate training or experience in the subject. Therefore I feel it is not in the patient's best interest to see me."

Sandra is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support, skills, tools and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. As a Bible believing Christian, Sandy utilizes scripture, when appropriate, throughout the therapy process. Sandra is a very down to earth, straight forward therapist, who focuses on developing a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. Sandy welcomes the parents of her young clients to participate in their treatment.

Of personal note, Sandra enjoys hiking and skiing throughout the Northwest, exercising and spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid Professional Bull Riding fan.
